Our facility includes state-of-the-art research laboratories in the city of Arusha, Tanzania and a unique field station in the rice fields of Moshi, Tanzania, where we develop and evaluate frontline mosquito control products. The ATRC is housed within several production facilities, providing an unparalleled opportunity within Africa for translating scientific discovery into products for Africa and the world.
What's our story?
We begin in 2003 with a historic breakthrough in the control of Malaria mosquitoes with the development of the first Long-lasting Insecticidal Net (LLIN) technology, Olyset® by Sumitomo Chemical Company, Japan, the altruistic royalty-free transfer of the Olyset technology transfer, and the establishment of Vector Health International LTD, a joint venture company owned by Sumitomo Chemical Company (Tokyo, Japan), and Net Health, a member of the A to Z Group of Companies (NHL, Arusha, Tanzania).
